Munich, May 21, 2025 – Var Group, a partner for business digitalization, is integrating its subsidiary CYRES Consulting into Yarix, its cybersecurity competence center. With this step, Var Group expands its existing automotive cybersecurity offerings in the German market. The aim is to support companies in an increasingly complex threat landscape with the full cybersecurity portfolio of the Yarix brand.

CYRES Consulting, based in Munich, is a leading provider of technical and regulatory cybersecurity consulting in the automotive industry. Since becoming part of the Var Group in 2022, it has contributed to the development of the Vehicle Security Operations Center (VSOC) and has offered compliance consulting, for example regarding the NIS2 directive or the Cyber Resilience Act.

With the integration of CYRES into Yarix, Var Group enhances its services with offerings such as a Cyber Threat Intelligence Service tailored to specific threats in the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland), Red Teaming, penetration testing in IT and OT environments (including physical access tests), and services in incident response, cyber risk advisory, and governance. New to the DACH market is also the 24/7 Security Operations Center (SOC) using a “Follow-the-Sun” model. This allows for continuous, year-round monitoring by teams located across time zones in Europe, Mexico, and Thailand—ensuring consistent protection while also supporting a better work-life balance for cybersecurity professionals.

High Demand for Cybersecurity Solutions

By June, CYRES Consulting Services GmbH will be renamed Yarix GmbH, strengthening its identity as a cybersecurity competence center.

The demand for solutions that increase resilience against cyberattacks is evident in the German market. “According to the Yarix cybersecurity report, the Y-Report 2025, Germany ranks among the top 5 countries worldwide in terms of companies experiencing the highest number of ransomware attacks,” explains Stephan Häfele, Regional Manager of Var Group GmbH. “I’m pleased that we can now support German companies even more effectively in the fight against cybercrime.” Var Group will publish the Y-Report, which offers an overview of the current cyber threat landscape, on May 27, 2025.
