TREVISO, 6 February 2026 – Yarix, the cybersecurity competence center of Var Group, reports an expansion of the hostile campaign attributed to the hacktivist collective NoName057(16). In recent hours, the group has added new targets linked to the ecosystem of the Milano-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, including both Italian portals and platforms belonging to foreign Olympic committees.

Monitoring activities have identified further operational references within the group’s Telegram channels, where DDoS attacks and disruptive actions against institutional, sports, and commercial websites connected to the event are being encouraged.

According to the latest findings, the monitored domains include:

  • Italian and Milano-Cortina ecosystem portals related to hospitality, including the official ticketing website, as well as some Olympic sponsors;

  • Olympic committees and sports federations from the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Sweden, Austria, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Finland, the Netherlands, and Slovakia;

  • Two German public broadcasters.

The NoName057(16) collective, known for geopolitically motivated hacktivist operations, typically aims to disrupt digital service continuity through coordinated DDoS attacks. International events such as the Olympic Games are preferred targets due to their media visibility and reputational impact.

“After the initial announcement, it was predictable that the collective would seize the opportunity to quickly relaunch new messages and new targets, exploiting the media attention generated. This is a typical dynamic of hacktivist groups: leveraging every visibility peak to amplify their propaganda. In light of this behavior, we cannot rule out a further expansion of the target list in the coming hours,” said Mirko Gatto, Head of Cybersecurity at Var Group.

Yarix (Var Group) recommends the following preventive measures for potentially affected targets:

  • Strengthening anti-DDoS defenses;

  • Increasing monitoring of Internet-exposed services;

  • Reviewing incident response plans in preparation for the Olympic event.
