Cybersecurity & Data Protection Observatory: the 2025 edition kicks off with the participation of Var Group and Yarix

 

 

  

Var Group, together with Yarix, a center of expertise for cybersecurity, is a sponsor of the Cybersecurity & Data Protection Observatory of the Politecnico di Milano.

 

Support for research and active participation in activities will continue in 2025.

The Kick Off event on March 23 officially launches the 2025 edition and represents an exclusive meeting between the main players in the cybersecurity and data protection market, aimed at directing annual research and illustrating how to collaborate with the Observatory.

 

The Cybersecurity & Data Protection Observatory, promoted by the School of Management of the Politecnico di Milano, now in its tenth edition, aims to respond to the need of companies to know, understand, and address new threats to cybersecurity by supporting them in choosing the most appropriate safeguards, making them aware of the importance of monitoring and controlling activities, and showing them the techniques and technologies that can be adopted to support cybersecurity.

 

The Cybersecurity & Data Protection Observatory of the Politecnico di Milano, as part of its research, aims to:

quantify the cybersecurity market in Italy;

  • Understand the impact of regulations and standards on cybersecurity and data protection;
  • Identify trends in cybersecurity and data protection and their relationship with digital innovation;
  • Identify the skills and roles involved in cybersecurity management;
  • Analyze and identify the interconnections between cybersecurity and ai;
  • Analyze cyber risk management methods;
  • Monitor the state of adoption of solutions and the implementation of cybersecurity and data protection projects in italian organizations;
  • Study the impacts and strategic choices of large companies and smes in the field of cybersecurity and data protection;
  • Identify success stories in cybersecurity and data protection.

 

 

The meetings planned for the Cybersecurity & Data Protection Observatory Research edition are as follows:

  • Three closed-door workshops with representatives of suppliers and user companies, aimed at promoting discussion and debate on cybersecurity and data protection issues;
  • Three open meetings with representatives of suppliers, exploring a specific topic related to cybersecurity;
  • Two open meetings with representatives of the authorities, aimed at exploring technological and regulatory issues central to the cybersecurity and data protection landscape;
  • An Executive Dinner reserved for representatives of suppliers and user companies, dedicated to the presentation and validation of the annual research;
  • An open case study presentation with representatives of the supply side and user companies, focusing on case studies of companies that have implemented cybersecurity solutions;
  • The final conference to present the results of the research activity with round tables and speeches by leading figures from the institutional world and the supply side of cybersecurity and data protection solutions and services.

 

The research activities are:

  • The implementation of a survey of Italian companies in all product sectors, aimed at CISOs (Chief Information Security Officers), CSOs (Chief Security Officers), CIOs (Chief Information Officers), Compliance Managers, Risk Managers, Chief Risk Officers, and DPOs (Data Protection Officers);
  • The creation of case studies of companies that have adopted cybersecurity and data protection solutions and policies with the aim of highlighting best practices;
  • A census of the main national and international players in cybersecurity solutions.

 

 

The Observatory will produce the following content:

  • A digital report containing the main results of the Observatory's research, which will be published at the conference;
  • A series of digital reports on topics explored in depth during the research year;
  • A fortnightly press review for supporters and companies in the community, bringing together the most relevant news on cybersecurity and data protection on the international and Italian scene.
